Kiev, the first destination to visit in Ukraine, is undoubtedly the capital, which is located in north-central Ukraine. This European city is crammed with stunning Soviet architecture, golden-domed religious edifices, and quaint streets.

The history of Kiev dates back to 482 AD and is one among the oldest cities in Eastern Europe. In fact, Kiev played a large role in the development of both the East Slavic civilization in the Middle Ages.

In modern Kiev, people-watch in cafes, or visit a museum to discover some of the fascinating history of Eastern Europe. A visit to the Museum of folks Architecture and Ethnography is suggested, one of the most important open-air museums in Europe. However, the most popular attraction in Kiev is undoubtedly Kiev Pechersklavra, one of the oldest and most important edifices in Ukraine.

Don't miss a stroll down Andriyivskyy Descent, a steep cobbled street lined with Art Nouveau houses. Kiev is also a popular destination for theatre, opera, and musical performances.

Lviv 




Lviv has a historical center worth exploring

Lviv is the largest city in western Ukraine and has a historical center worth exploring. Founded in 1240. Full of antiquities, museums, and ancient buildings with archaeological finds dating back to the 5th century. Lviv is called one of Ukraine's most famous cultural centers and is packed with art galleries, including the Lviv National Art Gallery, which houses more than 50,000 works of art. There's no shortage of activities for a cultural outing, from operas and ballets to charming café culture.

Chernivtsi



Chernivtsi bears the nickname "Little Vienna"

Chernivtsi are often found at the foot of the Carpathians in western Ukraine. The city, dubbed "Little Vienna", has an architecture similar to the Austrian city, which was once part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire.

But the city is not just an attractive spot; It has great historical and cultural importance as well. According to archaeological finds, the history of Chernivtsi goes back to the Neolithic period. It was a fortified city located on the northeastern coast during the amount of the Principality of Halych. It was known as the "Black City" - likely due to the dark color of the city walls - and was largely destroyed during the Mongol invasion. Some parts of the castle survive today.

With its cobbled streets dotted with quiet cafés, Baroque buildings, bookshops, and gardens, it is the perfect place to relax. Do not miss to visit the National University, which is one of the largest universities in Ukraine.
