Airports are the most common gateway to getting from one country to another, for those starting their flight. Flight centers provide aircraft infrastructure, deal with immigration and cargo issues, and also accommodate thousands of passengers each year. Over the years, the ever-increasing number of passengers has resulted in many airports being overcrowded. As it became increasingly difficult to cram all passengers into one building and park all aircraft in one place, countries began to expand their aviation hubs with new terminals and taxiways. Below, is a tour of the most famous airports in the world.

King Fahd International Airport

King Fahd International Airport, also known as Dammam Airport, opened for operations in 1999. The airport serves as a major hub for Saudi Arabian Airlines, Saudi Gulf Airlines, and flynas. The airport has three terminal buildings. The six-story main terminal operates both international and domestic flights. The Aramco terminal is served by private airlines operated by Saudi Aramco.

Denver International Airport

Denver International Airport began operations in 1995. The airport is a hub for United Airlines and Frontier Airlines and is also a base for Southwest Airlines (LUV). Denver Airport has a single terminal, which is connected to three major midfield meetings A, B, and C. The airport has six runways.

Beijing Daxing International Airport

Beijing Daxing Airport ranks sixth in the list of the largest airports in terms of area size, crowning itself as the largest single terminal airport in the world. The airport opened in 2019 and has become the main aviation hub for three major Chinese airlines - China Airlines, China Southern Airlines (ZNH), and China Eastern Airlines (CIAH) (CEA). Daxing Airport has only one terminal building. However, the station is the largest single building station in the world, containing five balls and looking like a starfish from the sky. It has four runways.

Shanghai Pudong International Airport

The airport began its commercial services in 1999. Shanghai Pudong Airport is a major aviation hub for Shanghai Airlines and China Eastern Airlines (CIAH) (CEA). Pudong Airport has two main passenger terminals. Terminals 1 and 2 operate on domestic and international flights.
